Janeway came to the Sanctuary in the spring of 2022 with her large family. She was part of a colony that had gotten out of control quickly.
At just 7 months old, Janeway was pregnant with her second litter of kittens. Just 4 days after arriving she gave birth to 5 kittens. Sadly all of her kittens had birth defects and did not survive. Unfortunately this is common with large inbred colonies. We promised to end the cycle and all members of the colony were spayed and neutered.
Janeway, and her mom Victrola, were both very scared when they first arrived. They wanted to trust humans but were weary of new interactions. Over the past few years both have made great strides towards trusting people.
Janeway is a very sweet docile girl. She does best in quieter situations. She spends most of her time sunning herself on our screened in Catios.
When the cat floor is quiet with only a few volunteers around, Janeway presents herself to volunteers for love and affection. She confidently walks up to you and insists on cuddles. But you must know, cuddles are completely on her terms.
