Milton came to the sanctuary through a local TNR group. He had an injury that would require a leg amputation and was beyond the capabilities of TNR.
From the day he arrived, Milton has had a team of people rooting for him. His time on the streets left him scared, in pain, and distrustful of people. We learned that he was more trusting of other cats, and he quickly made friends with Tiffin, a senior free-roaming resident of the sanctuary medical area. We began feeding Tiffin next to Milton's cage as he recovered, and Milton would come to the cage door for their daily dinner dates. After seeing how much Tiffin trusted us and enjoyed our pets and attention, Milton began venturing out to experience for himself.
After the first few chin scratches, Milton came around quickly. He now allows himself to be picked up and held, although he is still nervous, especially around new people.
He is completely vetted and learning to get around with 3 legs. He will most likely be overwhelmed on our open adoption floor, so we would love for him to find a home soon to start acclimating to his new family. He would do best in a home with relative calm, although he does seem to get along well with other cats of various ages.
Can you offer Milton the security and happiness of a furever home?
