Meet Pinochle 

This sweet boy came to the Sanctuary with his mom, Hearts,  and siblings.  Pinochle is a sweet kitty.  He loves to prance around you and seek out cuddles.  He prefers to be the one to initiate cuddle time.  Pinochle is more likely to comply when he thinks things are his idea.  He will sit on your lap for snuggles.  He may decide that your bed is actually his bed.  He may sit in weird spots and stare at nothing.  We are sure there are deep thoughts going on in his head.  

Pinochle does require a URINARY FOOD DIET due to a previous history of urinary crystals.  As long as he remains on this food and sees the veterinarian annually he should live a long and healthy life.  Pinochle is often a little untidy about his grooming habits.  This means that occasionally, despite his short hair, he mats at the base of his tail.  Pinochle is not a big fan of pedicures.  We usually feel like this is a 2-person job with lots of treats afterwards.

Pinochle rarely likes to be picked up.  We recommend going very slow if you do attempt to pick him up.  If you are calm, and he is in the right mood he will allow it.  But one wrong move and this cat goes flailing in all directions.  Your veterinarian may recommend sedating him prior to his annual exam and vaccines.  Pinochle loves wet food and will easily take any medication mixed in.
