I'm ready for my new family!

I'm Available

Pita was an early resident to the Sanctuary.  She was part of our Breadbasket litter in March 2020.

Pita was quickly adopted into a home when she was about 4 months old. We wished her a happily furever after.

Then in February 2022 we received a call from a shelter in Knoxville, Tennessee.  They had found Pita wandering the streets. She became a frequent visitor to a cat colony who brought her to the shelter to scan her for a microchip.

We contacted Pita’s adopter. They were out of town but Pita was staying at their parents house in, you guessed it, Knoxville, Tennessee.

They insisted that Pita was still safely at their parent’s home and sent us pictures.

It was clear to us that the cat pictured was not Pita.

Besides the physical differences, it is impossible for a microchip to migrate from one animal to another.

The adopter had no interest in claiming Pita from the shelter.

So Pita began a daisy chain journey back to Tipp City.

Several people volunteered to transport her part of the way and hand her off to the next ride like a relay baton.

Pita eventually arrived back at the Sanctuary.

Pita was examined by our veterinarian, all of her vaccinations were updated, and she was listed for adoption.

3.5 years later Pita is still at the Sanctuary.

Pita is a bit of a diva. She would like to be the main girl in your life.  She can tolerate another cat or two if she has enough space, but she will hiss and smack any cat that dares to get to close to her.

Pita loves playing.  She is a connoisseur of fine catnips and silver vines, and is working on her sommelier credentials.  She would be happy to make some recommendations on what pairs best with Pita bread.

Pita loves cuddles. She’s happy to sit down with you and snuggle while being adored.  She walks into a room with the confidence of royalty.

Are you ready to fill this Pita pocket with love?
