Schnapps is a double positive (FELV+, FIV+) boy with lots of love to give. He was originally part of a TNR program where the rescuer worked for about 6 months to tame, trap, and neuter him. While outside, he would walk back and forth with her to her car and meow. For a while, he lived in a tarped catio with a patio heater. However, the rescuer felt that he deserved a real home of his own. He loves to be inside and around people.
Despite his large size (approx. 16 pounds!), Schnapps enjoys being held and is very snuggly. He also enjoys chatting with humans at a low volume. He gets along with dogs and other cats and would likely do well with kids.
As we don't know when Schnapps was exposed to FIV or FELV, we don't know exactly what his life expectancy will be. We would love to get Schnapps into a loving home to give him the best shot at a full, happy life.
